TRAINING METHODOLOGY

ARFH adopts participatory training methods in the delivery of sessions. These include discussions, practicum, group work and plenary sessions, interactive lectures, role play, demonstration and return-demonstrations as well as case studies.

Training Faculty

Professor O.A. Ladipo MB; Bch, FRCOG, FICS, FWACS, ATMF, OON
A distinguished Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and an expert in reproductive health and family planning programme management, with over 30 years of experience. Prof. Ladipo is co-founder and President/CEO of ARFH and a WHO Sasakawa Award winner. He was the Director, WHO Clinical Centre for Research in Human Reproduction, University College Hospital , Ibadan .

Mrs G.E. Delano RN, RM, FWACN A veteran Nurse/Midwife with an outstanding career in Reproductive Health and Family Planning management spanning over 35 years. She has successfully managed several RH/FP programmes. Mrs Delano is co-founder and Vice-President/Executive Director of ARFH and a co-recipient of the WHO Sasakawa Award. She was the Chief Programme Coordinator, WHO Clinical Centre for Research in Human Reproduction, University College Hospital , Ibadan .

Professor L.A. Adeokun BA, MA, PhD A renowned Professor of Demography and Social Statistics, with a strong background in research methods, data processing and analysis. Professor Adeokun’s field experience covers social demography, fertility decision-making and sexuality, among very many others.

Mrs K.A. Osinowo SRN, RM, PGD, MPH, FWACN, ADHE A versatile Nurse/Midwife and Health Education Specialist with extensive experience and exposure in reproductive health and family planning programme management. She is currently the Programmes Director of ARFH.

Professor A.O. Adekunle MB; Bch, FMCOG, FWACS An Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, with over 30 years of extensive clinical and surgical experience. An expert in various facets of contraceptive technology including product and programme development and management, service delivery systems, performance improvement, curriculum development and a consultant on Sexual Reproductive Health.

Professor I.F. Adewole MBBS, FMCOG, FWACS A Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, a renowned administrator, clinician, teacher and researcher with focus on sexual reproductive health concerns. He is former Provost of the College of Medicine , University of Ibadan , Ibadan .

Professor U. Isiugo-Abanihe BA, MPS , MA , PhD A Professor of Demography with extensive field experience in social demography, population issues, research methods and practices, advanced data processing and analysis.

Dr A. Ajuwon BSc, MPH, PhD A Public Health and Communication Specialist with many years of experience in the design of social and behavioural change research projects.

Mrs. O.K. Adebola BSc, MSc, MPH A Public Health Professional with a passion for Reproductive Health, with extensive experience in the implementation, management and evaluation of community-based initiatives, including FP/RH interventions.

Dr Q.C. Ogbuji RN, RM, BSc, MSc, PhD A Medical Sociologist with strong nursing background and special interest in the area of HIV/AIDS research and Reproductive Health programming. Her areas of specialization include project design and mix, training, organisational development and project supervision.

Dr. J.T. Mutihir MBBS, FWACS A renowned Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist with years of experience as a clinician, teacher and researcher. He is currently senior lecturer/consultant in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Jos .

About ARFH

The Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH) is a national non-governmental organization with over 17 years experience in HIV/AIDS and Reproductive Health programming. Since inception, the organization has trained over 23,000 professional healthcare providers and interns, most of whom today occupy enviable positions in national and international NGOs and donor agencies all round the world. It is also a mentoring Centre on reproductive health and family planning issues for individuals and other non-governmental organizations. ARFH is recognized worldwide for organizing and implementing impact making capacity building programmes.

Mode of Payment
Remittance of fees for this course is by cash or bank draft payable to: Association for Reproductive & Family Health

Payment Deadline Participants are advised to ensure that payments are made latest one month before the training programme.

Other Expenses
All travelling expenses, accommodation, per diem and other transit expenses are the responsibility of the participants. However, ARFH could assist with accommodation arrangement on behalf of participants on request.
